With the temperature higher than usual in the UK, many of us are feeling the heat. It might not be your favourite of the 4 seasons, but there are plenty of reasons to enjoy the summer.
Whilst we will not shy away from a winter hibernation, blankets and woolly jumpers, there are plenty of reasons why we enjoy the warmer months, too. Here’s why we find it easy to fall in love with summer:
- Light evenings that you can enjoy after a day at work … maybe with a cheeky cool drink or two
- Taking the laptop outside and working alfresco
- Wearing less layers of clothes and being able to leave the coats at home
- Feeling warm air on your skin
- Eating outdoors – alone or with others
- Light mornings where you can have some quite time alone before you start the day
- The smell of suntan lotion
- Walking the dog in daylight hours

- Picnics
- Not travelling to and from work in the dark
- Relaxing our routines and slowing down
- Ice-cream
- Picking strawberries
- Drying the washing outside
- Flip flops
- Paddling pools

- Water fights
- Impromptu BBQs using anything from the fridge
- The smell of wet grass after shower of rain
- A summer thunderstorm
- Blue skies
- Trips to the beach and swimming in the sea
- Driving with the windows down
- Festivals, fayres and fetes
- Exercising outdoors
- Walking barefoot on grass
